Shonali Banerjee - Yoga Teacher

Shonali Banerjee, founder of Wise Ma Wellness, LLC has been teaching breath-based accessible adaptable yoga for over 20 years. She’s a yoga therapist, a death doula, a singer & a guide of sacred life ceremonies. She soothes frayed nerves by skillfully guiding breath & alignment based body movement. She holds space for truth & pain, encouraging awareness of what is possible now & imparts to students daily the necessity of rest, respect and compassion especially in the face of change. She sings every student into a sweet release.

Shonali was certified to teach yoga in 2002 with Yogiraj Alan Finger and studied yoga therapeutics and women's health with TKV Desikachar. She was certified as a Yoga Therapist with the Pranakriya Yoga school in 2013 and certified as a Death Doula in 2022 and currently leads Grief Programs at the new Grief House in Decatur. Shonali founded the Goddess Choir in 2020, and shares songs of empowerment and grace. She released her debut album in 2022, Open to Receive. She currently sings at the bedside of the dying with the Threshold Choir. She’s a devoted wife and mother to 2 incredible teenagers.
